Dive Report : Lestarikan Laut Kita, Pasir Putih - Situbondo, 3-4 Maret 2012

Enjoy them all :).

We have a very very pleasant experience during our trip at Pasir Putih...
check out the photos below....

1st Dive : Karang Mayit

Small Eel...  :)
B/W picture of jelly fish

B/W picture of jelly fish

surprisingly quite a lot of jelly fish we found throughout Pasir Putih these days...
different kind of jelly fish... just scroll down to find out what kind of jelly fish we found...

Crown of Thorn... (Acanthaster planci) at 5m found during safety stop.
Dare to touch ? :D.

Penuh duri hiii... hehehehe..... Crown of Thorn... (Acanthaster planci)

Hewan ini baru pertama kali saya lihat, punya 10 tangan yang
bergantian 'membawa makanan' ke mulut nya yang terletak ditengah... amazingg....

Other group found these beautifull lionfish during their safety stop...
picture belongs to Pak Satriyo Mahendrawan.

2nd Dive, Batu Lawang

Dancing Lion Fish....

Ketemu Lion fish yang sedang makan di atas koral... Richard yang pertama kali menemukan :).

Pak Ketua A2DC sempat berfoto bersama lion fish ini, silahkan check blog A2DC.

Front view.... :D.

A bottom dwell fish, no ID, I just like the shape of it :).

Nudi...

Phyllidiopsis pipeki nudi branch

Same species but red coloured :).

I did spot this nudi at piramid point.

3rd Dive, Piramid,
just about 100m from the dermaga (bridge) of Pasir Putih, is the Piramid, mostly sand bottom, but quite rich for macro creatures.

Flat fish, about 40cm in diameter, I am glad to found this rare fish here at Pasir Putih.
Look at her two eyes that both located at the same side.
Then I found another one, but much smaller, only 5cm in diameter

Goby with shrimp, a lot of these species at the piramid spot.

Goby with its host shrimp.... :). this is the first time I could photograph this simbiosis mutualism pair...

fantasize with it my friend :).
Property of Satriyo Mahendrawan.

dirty jelly fish... :) found at the piramid.
Nice looking bottom dwelling anemone

File fish... found at the piramid....
property of Satriyo Mahendrawan

4th dive, Nite Dive @ Piramid

Even more interesting... as expected, the sand of Pasir Putih hides a lot of interesting live animals...

Rajungan... tidur di atas pasir....

Small eel, comes out from her dent....

We found 2 or 3 hermit crabs at the sandy bottom west to piramid.

The same hermit crab, but photographed from the side, highlighting the anemone that grows on her :D.

Near the end of the dive, we found a good colony of carpet anemone with its fishes, crabs and shrimps !
check out the photos below :).

Porcelain Crab (Neopetrolisthes maculata)
You should see 2 crabs and 3 shrimps !! :D.
Porcelain Crab (Neopetrolisthes maculata)
Does it have a tongue or what ?
She uses her arms that has some sort of fan
to bring plankton into her mouth...

Porcelain Crab (Neopetrolisthes maculata) with anemone fishes...

The highlight for the night is a jelly fish with long tentacles...
She was just digesting 2 fishes and.....
(I just realize it when editing this picture) there is another small fish, alive, on the outside, following the jelly fish everywhere.
Now... my friend... could you locate the small fish ? :D.

The same jelly fish viewed from different angle, the tentacles were 2 meters long !!
